Red Top Mountain RV Trip

On the road again and with the Biglers. We left Saturday, Oct 12 and drove to Stephen Foster Memorial State Park which is located about thirty min from the state line. What a beautiful park...They were having a craft fair and several demonstrations; like dutch oven cooking, there was a blacksmith there, and jewelry making and quilting..It was lots of fun.

We stopped at the bell tower which plays on the hour. We went inside; it was all about Stephen Foster. I never knew all the words to "Way Down Upon the Suwanee River"
Stephen Foster Campground
From there we walked over to the museum and took a tour. It was pretty amazing All that history.
Bob had made chili to share...it was a bit spicy.

We got up early and drove like crazy to attend church in Tifton,GA which was one and a half hour away.We pulled up in our extra large campers into the church parking lot; yes they actually fit!! and we ran inside and they were passing sacrament when we sat down....We missed the bread and took the water???Don't know if that was the right thing to do or not.. Very friendly ward.

Cartersville...old train depot
We arrived at Red Top Mountain State Park about 4pm. We had reserved pull thu but I didn't tell the Biglers so they were over in a different section...oh well!! Our spot was on the very end so I got to watch deer every day..Monday we went into Cartersville, Ga. It was the cutest little town. We walked all around town ; we had lunch at Sweat Market Restaurant. Carol and I had sweet potato and black bean soup. Loved it.

.Then we went to the Tellus Science Museum. It was huge.
Saw lots of dinosaurs and other stuff. It
 was very  interesting.
Went back to the campground and Bob B grilled up some yummy hamburgers and carol made green stuff; my favorite. We had ice cream and brownies for dessert,
Train Museum

Tuesday we went to a train museum. Took photos of "the GENERAL" and watch a video about the train heist that took place during the Civil War.....very interesting. We had lunch at a nice restaurant. Really enjoyed that lunch..Fried green tomato sandwich. When we got back I fixed my famous Sour Cream Chicken.

Wed. we met Barbara Seng at The Booth Western Art Gallery. It took hours to see everything. I loved it..had lots of horses and western stuff. We went to their cafe for lunch. It was so good to see Barb. I miss her.

Thursday; it rained all day so we went shopping at Goodwill and a bunch of thrift shops. Carol fixed a crockpot dinner.
Friday we left!! It went by so fast!
Pam, Bob, and Barbara Seng
We drove straight home; got back about 7pm.Its good to leave but its good to get home too.

I think they know a secret
Maybe its about a mission???

We went to see the leaf colors but I guess we were too early...didnt see much. Someone said because of all the rain most of the leaves have just dropped to the ground
